Thank you to the partnership of the Rotary Club of Morley Men’s Shed and 12 Buckets on North Balga’s new Buddy Bench. This will be used for students who might need a friend or if they are sad and need someone to chat. The bench is located underneath a beautiful tree near the nature playground.
Each term as a behavioural incentive the school puts on an interactive show called Achievers. Achievers is to reward and congratulate the students that show the school virtues of commitment, excellence and respect. This term Scitech came to North Balga with their Earth and Space Workshop and Space Dome. Students from PP- Year 6 attended.
During Week 3 students from Rooms 1, 3 and 5 went on an Excursion to AQWA. Throughout the day students were able to explore the aquarium by viewing animals in the underwater tunnel and going to the touch pool to hold starfish and pat sharks. The students had an absolutely amazing time! Thank you to
On Thursday 8th September we had our Kindy Sports Carnival. The Kindy students competed in a variety of games and running races. On the 8th September the school raised awareness for R U OK? Day. Students and staff were encouraged to wear yellow on the day. Each class had a discussion about the mission behind R U OK? Day and created a display to go with a planted yellow flower in a yellow R U OK? pot.
On the 7th September, students participated in the P&C Lapathon fundraiser. The junior students ran around the oval and the seniors around the school 5 times. Each time getting a stamp from their teacher. Students have been finding sponsors over the weeks to help raise money for each lap they run. Well done to all
Our Early Childhood classes celebrated Fathers Day (and special guardians day) on Thursday 1st September. Each class did different activities with the dads such as: face shaving, construction building, drawing and painting their special person and playing games outside. At the end of the day, the students gave their dad or special person a gift
What a wonderful excursion we had on August 5th ! Students from Years 4-6 were invited to the State Theatre, to Studio Underground, to see the Barking Gecko production ‘Cicada’.
